13 die in fatal accident on Kumasi-Obuasi Highway

A tragic accident early today, October 14, 2024, claimed the lives of thirteen passengers when a VIP bus traveling from Kumasi to Enchi veered off the road and fell into a ditch near Kwapia, close to Obuasi.

Among the deceased are seven men, five women, and a child. The driver, Osei Adu, was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.

Eyewitnesses suggest the bus was overloaded with passengers from a broken-down vehicle, and disputes among passengers may have distracted the driver.

Police are investigating the incident, and the victims' bodies have been sent to the morgue.
