The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has facilitated the return of 13 trafficked Nigerian girls from Ghana, bringing the total number of victims rescued since July 2024 to 163.

The girls, aged 19-30 and from states like Ebonyi, Benue, Kaduna, and Rivers, were lured to Ghana with false job promises but trapped in exploitative conditions.

Their rescue was a collaborative effort involving Ghanaian authorities, Rescue Live Foundation International, and NIDO Ghana, supported by NiDCOM.

NiDCOM’s Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, praised stakeholders for their roles in the operation and reiterated the commission’s commitment to combating trafficking under President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Efforts for the girls’ rehabilitation and reintegration are already underway.
