The 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) concluded on July 12 for 560,000 candidates, despite reports of malpractices.
Eighteen invigilators were arrested for aiding candidates and violating new WAEC regulations, including a phone ban at exam centres.
Deputy Education Minister Rev. John Ntim Fordjour assured the public of disciplinary measures, while WAEC considers hiring its own invigilators.
Most candidates felt relieved post-exams, though some faced challenges with the new curriculum.
