3 arrested over assault of JoyNews crew at galamsey site

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the assault on Luv FM journalists, including Erastus Asare Donkor, while reporting on illegal mining at Asumenya near Manso Nkran.

Armed men, claiming to work for Edelmetallum Resources Limited, abducted and brutally beat the journalists, who were filming the environmental destruction caused by illegal mining.

Kofi Adu Domfeh, News Editor at Luv FM, confirmed the arrests, with two suspects identified as attackers.

However, when the police accompanied the journalists back to the site, they were met with resistance, and the police restricted further filming of the damaged area.
