Lord Paul Boateng of the UK House of Lords has warned that food insecurity is affecting millions of people worldwide, with many companies experiencing lower incomes than before the pandemic.

The World Food Programme has reported that 309 million people face acute food insecurity, with 60% of the poorest countries in debt crisis or at risk of it.

Ghana ranks 62nd in the 2023 Global Hunger Index, with a moderate level of hunger.
