Thirty-three suspects have been arrested by the Tarkwa Police Command in the Western Region in connection of shooting and killing of a police officer who was providing an escort duty to an Indian businessman in Tarkwa, in the Western region on Sunday, April 29, 2018.
Confirming the arrest to Otec News’Francis Appiah, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Western Regional Police Command, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adikro, said the suspects are all workers of the Indian businessman
The deceased police officer, Lance Corporal Duku Nicolas, was shot by four masked armed robbers while escorting Rajinder Singh, an Indian businessman and bolted away GHS 900, 000 in a Nissan rogue vehicle with registration number GE 411- 16 for their operation.
The vehicle was later abandoned at the outskirts of Oppong Valley, a suburb of Tarkwa and Tarkwa Divisional and Prestea police teams have since been on the hunt for the four.
