National security is searching for the directors of 44 oil marketing companies that disappeared with nearly GH₵60 million owed to Bulk Energy Storage and Transportation Limited (BEST).

These companies collected levies from fuel sales but didn’t pass the funds to BEST.

The Auditor General’s 2023 report confirmed this, and many companies are now untraceable.

BEST’s CEO, Dr. Edwin Provencal, stated that national security and the Economic and Organised Crime Office are involved in tracking down these directors, aiming to hold them accountable for the missing funds.
