50-megawatt solar power plant at Yendi to be ready by November

The $59 million, 50-megawatt solar power plant being built in Galgu, Yendi, is set for completion by November 2024.

Led by Bui Power Authority and financed by First Sky Group, the project, which began in September 2023, is 75% complete.

It includes a powerhouse, accommodation, access roads, and more.

The plant will enhance energy security in Ghana, with plans to expand its capacity to 100 megawatts.

The project, seen as a development catalyst, has been praised by local leaders and officials for its potential to boost jobs, growth, and peace in the Dagbon region.
