524 diaspora members gain Ghanaian Citizenship in historic ceremony

Ghana welcomed 524 members of the African diaspora as new citizens in a historic ceremony on November 19, 2024, marking the third such event under President Akufo-Addo's administration.

The ceremony, part of the ongoing “Year of Return” initiative, aimed to strengthen ties between Ghana and its global diaspora.

President Akufo-Addo highlighted the significance of the event, urging the new citizens to embrace Ghanaian values like respect and equity.

He expressed optimism about the positive impact these new citizens would have on Ghana’s development.
