Speaker Alban Bagbin has indefinitely adjourned Parliament due to a dispute over vacant seats, stalling several key legislative matters.
The controversy began when NDC MPs occupied the Majority side after NPP MPs walked out, claiming the majority.
The adjournment delays important parliamentary business, including approval of the 2025 budget, a $250 million Ghana Financial Stability Fund, a $250 million energy sector loan, $350 million in tax waivers, and the confirmation of two Supreme Court nominees.
Bagbin cited insufficient numbers to make decisions and acknowledged a court case involving four MPs.
