President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated claims that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fulfilled 78% of its 2016 manifesto promises remain undisputed.
Addressing the house during the State of the Nation Address, the president reckoned that the facts presented by his vice president, Dr. Mamamudu Bawumia are backed by data.

He ended by asserting that 78% of the promises we’ve made solemnly to the people of Ghana have been or are in the process of being fulfilled. There has so far been no factual challenge to his compelling testimony.”
He said this while addressing Ghanaians at the 2020 State of the Nation Address in parliament.
Speaking at a recent town hall meeting, the Vice President noted that the NPP government had a record which validated 78% fulfillment of their promises to Ghanaians ahead of the 2016 elections.
“In all, we made 388 promises in our manifesto. The most recent validation exercise at the end of January 2019 shows that we had delivered or are delivering on 303, 78 percent of the promises,” Dr. Bawumia said.
The Vice president added that government is on the verge of fulfilling 189 of its promises after achieving 114 of its targets.
