Joseph Ashitey Hammond, a 99-year-old Ghanaian World War II veteran, has launched his autobiography, "Joseph Ashitey Hammond."
As the last surviving witness of the February 28 Crossroad incident, Hammond's memoir reflects on his lifelong dedication to justice and service.
The book launch, held at the Kofi Annan International Training Centre in Teshie on September 21, 2024, was attended by prominent figures including Teshie Mankralo, Vice Marshal Felix Asante, and Hon. Ayikwe Otoo.
The Ghana Armed Forces honored Hammond with a citation, and musician Adotey Tetor entertained guests, with Kafui Dey as auctioneer.
