NDC’s Kofi Adams has insisted that – ‘unity’ which the NPP is struggling to inculcate in the party in recent times cannot win them power in 2016.
According to him, the party is already torn apart and not in the right position to lead Ghana as they [NPP] wished.
“Even if the NPP can unify its members now, they still cannot win power in any way,” he insisted.
His comments come after the NPP held a successful National Delegates Conference last Saturday in Sunyani to launch Nana Addo’s campaign team for 2016.
Many political pundits have lauded the NPP for the ‘smooth’ conference – weeks after suspending its General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong and first National Chairman, Sammy Crabbe – also the party’s National Chairman, Mr. Paul Afoko is serving an indefinite suspension.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show, Ghana Montie, the NDC’s National Organizer said the NPP’s quest to maintain unity in the party now will not yield any result in 2016.
“The unity they are trying to bring about in the party now will only help them in the future, not this 2016,” he claimed.
Kofi Adams argued that – President Mahama’s achievements for the country will earn him another term after 2016 presidential election.
“President Mahama has been accepted by the electorates, and they have no plans to change him. His achievements are tremendous and clear for everyone to see,” he said.
Kofi Adams, however, noted that – “Nana Addo himself knows he can’t be president. He is just struggling to lose the elections. He knows that.”
