The Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP) is calling for the dissolution of the Electricity Company of Ghana's (ECG) board after the resignation of Managing Director Samuel Dubik Mahama.
Citing poor revenue collection—losing GH¢9.7 billion from 2017 to 2022—ACEP's Policy Lead, Kodzo Yaotse, emphasized the need for new management with clear performance indicators.
He argued that the entire board should be held accountable for the inefficiencies highlighted by Mahama’s departure.
ACEP expects appropriate actions from the appointing authority in light of the situation.
