Ablakwa’s ‘Hands off our Hotels demo’ kicks off in Accra

Protesters are gathering at Labadi Beach Hotel for the "Hands Off Our Hotels Demonstration," aiming to pressure the government to stop the sale of 60% shares in four SSNIT-owned hotels to Rock City Hotel, owned by Minister Bryan Acheampong.

The hotels involved are Labadi Beach Hotel, La Palm Royal Beach Resort, Elmina Beach Resort, and Busua Beach Resort.

North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the protest's convenor, argues that selling state properties to government officials is an abuse of power.

The protest will move from Labadi Beach Hotel to Christ the King School near the Jubilee House, with police providing security.
