Ablakwa to sue govt for compensation over Akosombo dam spillage

North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has announced plans to take legal action to ensure compensation for victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage.

The spillage in September 2023 displaced thousands in the Lower Volta Basin, destroying homes and livelihoods.

Speaking at an NDC event, Ablakwa vowed to hold the government accountable for compensating all affected individuals.

He criticized the government for neglecting the victims and pledged to fight for their compensation through legal means until every resident is fully compensated.
