NUGS has demanded for urgent government action to resolve issues faced by Ghanaian students on scholarships abroad, citing protests by beneficiaries in Morocco over 10-month stipend delays.
President Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel highlighted hardships, including food and sanitary product shortages, faced by students in Morocco, UK, India, and those reliant on the Students Loan Trust Fund.
He also emphasized on the need for adequate education funding, given increased tertiary enrollment due to free SHS policy.
NUGS called for swift intervention to address student concerns and prevent further suffering, particularly emphasizing the importance of support from the Students Loan Trust Fund and government agencies.
