Address public discontent or face agitations and protests – Afenyo-Markin warns politicians

Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has called on Ghana’s political leaders to collectively address public discontent to prevent protests, referencing recent unrest in Kenya.

Speaking in Parliament on July 3, he stressed the need for proactive measures beyond political affiliations to tackle underlying issues.

Ododiodiodio MP Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, who witnessed the Kenyan protests, emphasized the urgency of addressing youth unemployment and public perceptions of political corruption.

Both leaders highlighted the necessity of a unified national agenda to harness youth potential and ensure sustainable development.
