Akufo-Addo assents to Affirmative Action Bill 2024

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has signed the Affirmative Action Gender Equity Bill 2024 into law.

Passed by Parliament in July, the bill aims to tackle gender imbalances and promote equity in both public and private sectors by addressing historical discrimination and patriarchal norms.

Gender Minister Dakoa Newman announced the assent on X (formerly Twitter) and emphasized that the next step is implementation.
