Akufo-Addo did worse – Rachel Appoh fumes

Former Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Rachel Appoh, has condemned the police for denying medication to a suspect arrested during the recent Democracy Hub anti-galamsey protest in Accra.

She described this action as a violation of human rights, particularly as the suspect suffers from asthma and only received medication after an attack.

Appoh criticized the charges against the protesters, particularly the “offensive conduct to breach the peace” allegation, calling it laughable and asserting that the current government is more responsible for breaching public peace due to rising living costs and corruption.

She urged greater accountability from the government and condemned the erosion of freedom of speech in Ghana.
