Akufo-Addo is a hypocrite - Kwesi Dawood

Nana Akufo-Addo Nana Akufo-Addo

Central Regional Communications Officer of the NDC, Mr. Kwesi Dawood has accused the flagbearer of the opposition NPP, Nana Akufu-Addo of allegedly engaging in what he called “diabolical political hypocrisy”.

Mr. Dawood, who is also the Campaign Spokesperson for the Regional Campaign Task Force, claimed that the decision of the opposition leader to ask for a minute silence for the late president, Prof. John. E.A Mills at Otuam was very regrettable because it was a serious sign of hypocrisy.

Speaking at a rally at Agona Swedru Old Zongo, the communication officer said Mr. Akufo-Addo has sensed the eminent defeat that stirs at him in the next month’s election and he is therefore wallowing in desperation to win the hearts of the people.

According to Mr. Dawood, it was the activist of the NPP and their communicators who constantly smeared the late president with all forms of insults and ‘spiritual and traditional’ vilifications that contributed to his death.

"At the behest of Akufo-Addo, NPP communicators, leaders, executive and their media collaborators insulted Prof Evans Atta Mills on daily basis with Akufo-Addo himself leading the ‘Agenda disrespect Prof Mills’ on daily basis.'

He continued: “Hope you remember who referred to Agya Atta Mills as Prof Do Little. They did unthinkable and unimaginable things to Prof Mills, including their going to Parliament dressed in mourning clothes to show him 'spiritual' red card’.

Mr. Dawood further claimed that it was Mr. Akufo-Addo who taunted Prof Mills a sick man and even issued a press statement when the late President had to seek medical attention abroad in 2012.

In view of this, he said, Nana Addo exhibited a high sense of dishonesty and hypocrisy when he recently visited Ekumfi Otuam, the home town of the late president and asked the people to observe a minute silence for the memory of the late Ghanaian leader.

He therefore charged the electorate to punish the ‘hypocrisy, dishonesty and unprincipled nature of Nana Addo’ by voting massively for President John Mahama who he claimed have kept faith with the people of the central region.

Ambassador Alhaji Saed Sinare, Hon Alhaji Baba Larmin and Mr. Abu Sadat were among the dignitaries who addressed the rally.

Founder of ‘Zongo4NDC’ who is also a National Vice Chairman of NDC with other regional and national executive of the party also attended the rally and took turns to address the gathering.
