Akufo-Addo launches District Road Improvement Programme

On July 31, President Akufo-Addo launched the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) at Black Star Square, marking a major step in improving Ghana’s road infrastructure.

The initiative aims to enhance local road networks by equipping Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with 2,240 pieces of essential machinery, including graders, backhoes, and trucks.

This program is part of a broader decentralization effort to empower local authorities and boost economic development.

The DRIP is expected to create 10,000 jobs and significantly improve road quality, facilitating trade, education, and healthcare.

President Akufo-Addo stressed the program's potential to transform local economies and enhance citizens' quality of life.
