Franklin Cudjoe, founder of IMANI Africa, criticized President Nana Akufo-Addo's recent military deployment to combat illegal mining, or galamsey, claiming it is ineffective and merely a "game of tricks."
He pointed out the government's previous investments in similar operations have yielded little progress, expressing frustration over calls for collective action while the situation worsens.
Cudjoe emphasized that meaningful action should have been taken previously, questioning the sincerity of the government's commitment to resolving the crisis.
