Akyem Asuom: Tension as chiefs demand immediate transfer of Police Commander

Tension has risen in Akyem Asuom, Eastern region, as chiefs demand the transfer of Police Commander, Superintendent Abanga Stephen, over alleged illegal activities.

The Krontihene, Nana Boadi Amponim Abodade III, accused the Commander of unprofessional conduct, illegal arrests, and involvement in galamsey (illegal mining).

Residents also called for his removal, citing incompetence. Superintendent Abanga Stephen declined to comment, directing inquiries to the Police Public Relations department.

The chiefs and residents are appealed to the Inspector General of Police and the President to replace him with a more competent officer.
