The Minority in Parliament has appealed to the leadership of the House and President Kufuor to retain the current Speaker of the House as Speaker of the next Parliament.
According to the minority Mr. Peter Ala Adjetey has performed creditable in the past four years that he has been in charge of the House and it is only proper that he is retained.
Mr. Adjetey, a former NPP Chairman, is largely seen to be fair and bi-partisan in his handling of affairs in and out of the chamber of the house. Mr. Adjetey had already indicated that he would be willing to continue as Speaker if the leadership of the House requests him to take the job. The member for Bole Bamboi, John Mahama opened the proposal for Mr. Ala Adjetey?s retention as speaker when the house was about wrapping up its business for the day and his colleagues from Ho West--Kofi Attor, and Ningo Prampram, E.T. Mensah, supported it.
