Alan Kyerematen, presidential candidate for the Alliance for Revolutionary Change, has unveiled a 10-point plan to end illegal mining (galamsey) in Ghana.
The plan includes a one-year ban on all small-scale mining, cancellation of licenses issued in the past 15 years, and a full environmental restoration campaign.
Kyerematen also proposes life imprisonment for mining in river bodies and forest reserves.
His vision, part of the broader Great Transformational Plan (GTP), aims to create a sustainable, responsible mining industry, supported by local communities and youth-led companies.
He called on Ghanaians to support his strategy to tackle the galamsey crisis.
