Former deputy Minority Leader, Ambrose Derry has won the Nandom constituency seat.

Derry, a big stalwart of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), according to unconfirmed results in the area put up a spirited performance to win the seat for the first time for the elephant family.

Nandom is one of the newly created constituencies by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) which was occupied by the Minister for Defense, Benjamin Kumbour.

The area was calved out of the previous Lawra-Nandom constituency in 2012, with Kumbour putting up a spirited performance to win the seat back.

Surprisingly, Mr. Derry won the Lawra-Nandom constituency in 2008, beating his friend Kumbour.
