Anti-LGBTQ case: AG’s office misses deadline to file defense in cases challenging process behind bill’s passage

The Attorney General’s Office has missed its deadline to file a defense in Dr. Amanda Odoi’s case against the Speaker of Parliament and the Attorney General, challenging the passage of the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill.

The Supreme Court is awaiting proper filings from all parties, causing delays.

Proponents of the bill plan to protest on October 8 to push for a faster hearing.

The Judiciary noted that the lack of necessary filings, including the Memorandum of Issues, has stalled progress.

This procedural delay also affects Richard Sky’s similar case against the Bill’s passage.
