The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended one of its executive members in the Ashanti Region for gaining notoriety in abusing the leadership of the party on radio and social media given the least opportunity, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed
A statement issued and signed by the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Kwame Zu indicates that Mr. Samed Kooli who is an Executive Member, Kwabre East Constituency in the region breached articles 45(a) and 46(8)(b) of the party’s constitution and is therefore suspended.
“Your incessant abuse of party leaders on various media platforms affronts the tenets of democracy and dots not promote party cohesion. Pursuant to article 46(2), your matter has been referred to the regional further action. You are at liberty to contact the regional secretariat if need be”, the statement added.
This comes barely a fortnight after the party foot soldiers petitioned the National Executives Committee (NEC) of the party to stop former Central Regional Minister, Bernard Allotey Jacobs from representing the party on media platforms.
They argue that Allotey who has been the face of the party on several radio and TV platforms, especially on Adom TV, Adom FM and Peace FM hardly does enough to push the agenda of the largest opposition party when he appears on radio and TV.
