Ashanti chiefs advocate for increased stool land revenue share

The Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs has appealed to the government to reconsider the revenue distribution from stool lands, citing the current 10% allocation to traditional authorities as insufficient.

The chiefs argued that they play a significant role in land stewardship and deserve a larger share.

Despite numerous appeals, successive governments have failed to make adjustments.

The Adansimanhene and Mamponghene specifically sought Dr. Bawumia's attention, urging prompt action and constructive dialogue to find a mutually beneficial resolution.

The chiefs emphasized the urgency of the situation and the need for a revised revenue share.
