The Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs has appealed to the government to reconsider the revenue distribution from stool lands, citing the current 10% allocation to traditional authorities as insufficient.
The chiefs argued that they play a significant role in land stewardship and deserve a larger share.
Despite numerous appeals, successive governments have failed to make adjustments.
The Adansimanhene and Mamponghene specifically sought Dr. Bawumia's attention, urging prompt action and constructive dialogue to find a mutually beneficial resolution.
The chiefs emphasized the urgency of the situation and the need for a revised revenue share.
