The Aspiring National Executive Committee (NEC) Member for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Habibu Dramani, has vowed to improve and empower the people within the Zongo communities across the country.

The NDC, he said has lost its support base within the Zongo communities in the last elections due to improper structures and strategies hence his bid to make the Zongos part of his top most priority to invest and empower the people especially the youth.

He said most of the people within the Zongo communities have been loyal to political parties and are dumped after these parties win power due to lack of education.

This he said will be a thing of the past due to his experience and how he has lived his life within the Zongo community adding that he knows and understands the people within the Zongo communities and will ensure that the people will benefit from the party and will as well be given what is due to them when giving the nod as a NEC Member .

Mr Dramani urged parents within the Zongos to invest in their children education to enable them to be part of decision makers in the country to actively involve in politics and other national activities.

According to him, the zongo people deserve better than rice and sugar or hajj slots which many politicians have taking advantage of and promising such offers.

This he said the people in the Zongos need to be empowered with skill training and business ideas so as to be self independent as well as scholarships to the various education levels.

He revealed that the increasing unemployment rate in the Zongo communities are the major contributor in the abuse of hard drugs like tramadol among the section of the youth which is becoming common in the Zongos and the country at large.

Mr Dramani expressed optimism of winning the NEC membership position due to his support for the NDC and how he has personally improved the lives of many not only in NDC but to many Ghanaians.

He pledged to use his position if giving the nod together with whoever comes out victorious as the National Zongo Caucus Coordinator to increase the NDC winning margin in the Zongos.

This he added that, cannot be achieved on a silver platter but with his experience and understanding with the people he will turn things around for the party to win massively.
