Ato Forson begged for ambulance case to be discontinued – AG

The Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice has faced intense pressure to discontinue the ambulance purchase trial involving Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.

Richard Jakpa, the third accused, claimed in court that Attorney General Godfred Dame repeatedly contacted him to implicate Dr. Forson.

Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe urged Jakpa to answer questions directly, leading to a heated exchange.

The AG accused Jakpa of defending Dr. Forson, while Jakpa alleged the AG sought his cooperation at odd hours.

The AG's office denied these allegations, stating Jakpa had requested plea bargaining multiple times, which has not been accepted.

The AG views the allegations as an NDC scheme to pressure him to drop the case.
