Axim youth demonstrate over locked-up stadium project

Youth in Axim, Nzema-East Municipality, has issued a two-week ultimatum to the President to open a 95% completed, abandoned stadium.

The stadium's facilities, including VVIP areas and goalposts, are deteriorating.

Axim Youth Leader Jonas Kwabutey highlighted the lack of recreational space and the decay of new installations.

Despite submitting a petition two months ago, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Eric Essien ignored their concerns.

The youth demand the stadium be used by July 29 or face their protest.

In response, Essien acknowledged the issue and contacted the Regional Minister to ensure the contractor resumes work by August.
