Ayorkor Botchwey discusses trade, commonwealth with Sri Lankan counterpart

Ghana's Foreign Minister, Shirley A. Botchwey, met with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabri in Colombo to discuss her bid for Commonwealth Secretary-General and explore economic cooperation.

Both countries, having faced severe economic crises, are interested in learning from each other’s experiences.

Sri Lanka’s green energy success and recovery from economic turmoil were key topics.

Botchwey aims to integrate climate action, democracy, and economic growth into her Commonwealth vision.

She also highlighted potential cooperation in textiles, rice production, and tourism.
