Bagbin orders probe into video of immigration officers assaulting woman

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has ordered an investigation into a video showing immigration officers assaulting a woman at the Aflao border in the Ketu South Municipality.

The issue was raised by MP Abla Dzifa Gomashie, who questioned the training and culture of the border facility.

The video depicts gun-wielding officers physically attacking an unarmed woman.

Bagbin instructed the Interior Minister to report back to Parliament on July 29, 2024, stressing that public servants should serve the public without using force, especially against women, and called for a thorough investigation.
