Bawumia announces commissioning timelines for Sewua and Afari hospitals

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has assured that the Sewua Regional Hospital and Afari Military Hospital will be completed soon, with commissioning expected in July and August 2024, respectively.

He addressed concerns from the Ashanti Regional Ghana Medical Association about delays in completing health facilities, which have put pressure on Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

The Association suggested prioritizing resources to retool KATH instead of pursuing all Agenda 111 projects.

Dr. Bawumia's announcement aims to alleviate the burden on KATH and improve healthcare infrastructure in the region.
