Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, has stated that he will sign the anti-LGBTQ bill into law if elected president, barring any legal issues.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Vice Chair of the Party’s Manifesto Committee, confirmed Bawumia’s strong stance against LGBTQ activities, emphasizing his commitment to protecting Ghanaian cultural values.
However, the bill is currently under legal scrutiny, and Bawumia’s ability to act depends on its legal validity.
Critics, like Ho West MP Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, challenge Bawumia to push President Akufo-Addo to sign the bill now.
