Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, said he was working on a private member's bill to prevent legislators and government officials from buying state assets.

He believed it's wrong for public officials to benefit from state asset sales, as they are elected to manage them.

Ablakwa aims to introduce the bill in the eighth Parliament and is seeking the President's support.

Ablakwa is also leading a demonstration against the sale of four SSNIT hotels to Rock City Hotel Limited.
