Body language of the leadership of the country problematic – Manasseh

Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has expressed concern about the safety of journalists in Ghana and highlighted the lack of political will to enforce laws protecting them.

He emphasized the need to hold perpetrators of attacks on journalists accountable and ensure they face justice.

Despite Ghana's constitutional guarantees of press freedom, journalists, especially those investigating corruption, have faced intimidation without sufficient action from authorities.

Mr. Awuni's plea is not just for the protection of media personnel but a broader appeal for the defense of democracy, as he believes that unpunished attacks on journalists signify a breakdown in the rule of law and embolden those seeking to undermine free expression and accountability.
