Borteyman Sports Complex given out for church service

Just three months after hosting the 2023 African Games, the $145m Borteyman Sports Complex has begun hosting church services, sparking outrage on social media.

A viral video showed a church service inside one of the facility's domes, conducted by Christ Embassy-Legon Central without permission.

Joy Sports revealed the University of Ghana SRC and the church had sought the NSA's permission for a student field trip, which turned into a church event.

The NSA is investigating the incident.

The complex includes facilities for swimming, basketball, badminton, and other sports, with capacities ranging from 500 to 1,000 spectators.
