The ad hoc committee set up to investigate bribery allegations levelled against some members of the Appointments Committee of Parliament will resume work on Monday February 20, 2017.
The committee chaired by the Member of Parliament (MP) for Essikado-Ketan constituency Joe Ghartey will begin its public hearing at 3pm.
The MP for Bawku Central constituency Mahama Ayariga who is leading the crusade accused the chairman of the committee Joe Osei-Owusu of offering bribes to members of the committee prior to the approval of the energy minister Boakye Agyarko’s nomination.
The witnesses expected to be interrogated include Mr Agyarko, Mr Ayariga, MP for Asawase constituency Alhaji Mubarak Muntaka and possibly MP for North Tongu Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Mr Agyarko who is alleged to have paid the bribe through Mr Osei-Owusu have denied the allegations. Mr Osei-Owusu has also refuted the claims.
