The Minority Spokesperson for Communication, Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini has added himself to the list of parliamentarians asking for the resignation of the Minister of State in-charge of National Security, Bryan Acheampong, following the violent turnout of events at the just ended Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election which left about six persons injured.

"…Mr. Bryan Acheampong, Minister of State in the office of the president for National Security should not only be dismissed, but he should also have been arrested by now because he has come out openly to admit that he sent the miscreants to go and cause trouble at Ayawaso West Wuogon, he has admitted,” he told journalists in Parliament.
Alhaji A.B.A Fuseini's reaction follows calls from the minority in parliament and sections of the general public especially the Inter-Party Coalition for National Sovereignty, for the resignation of the three key security persons in the country; the IGP, David Asante Apeatu, the National Security Minister, Albert Kan Dapaah as well as Bryan Acheampong.
The three have come under heavy criticism for the violence that occurred during the by-election Ayawaso West Wuogon, which left at least six people injured and several others including Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency, Sam Nartey George manhandled by masked men suspected to be Invisible Forces, a pro-New Patriotic Party vigilante group.
Background
The conduct of the polls was marred by a shooting incident at the residence of one of the aspirants, Mr Brempong; which resulted in injuries to 18 persons and an assault on an observer at one of the polling stations.
The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into the shooting incident.
By-Election Result
Madam Lydia Seyram Alhassan replaced her husband as the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency after winning the by-election held on Thursday, 31st January 2019 in Accra.
Madam Alhassan, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, was the second wife of the late MP Mr Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko.
She polled 68.80 percent of the valid votes cast.
Her closest challenger, Mr Kwasi Delali Brempong of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) polled 30.52 percent while Mr William Kofi Dowokpor of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and Mr Clement Boadi of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) polled 0.58 and 0.10 percent respectively.
Demonstration
Subsequently, an Inter-Party Coalition for National Sovereignty held a peaceful demonstration to protest recent violent happenings in the country particularly with regards to the clashes that temporarily disrupted the Ayawaso West Wuogon electoral process at the La Bawaleshie Center.
The coalition said its resolve to embark on Thursday’s demonstration stemmed from the violent incident that led to the injury of at least six persons.
They explained the protest was to send a clear signal to the government to check the level of insecurity in Ghana, which they say is threatening the country’s democracy.
