A new survey by CDD-Ghana reveals that some District Assemblies are misusing funds from mineral royalties, intended for local development.
Instead of investing in projects like education and health, these funds are being spent on non-essential items such as funeral donations, fuel, and palace maintenance.
The survey, covering eight out of 28 mining districts, found that Brim North Municipal was the top performer in fund utilization, while Prestea-Huni Valley ranked lowest.
CDD-Ghana plans to release detailed findings soon.
