The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has announced an indefinite strike starting Friday, June 14, 2024, due to the government's delay in implementing the National Labour Commission’s Arbitral Award Orders and negotiated service conditions.
The strike affects all 46 public colleges of education in Ghana.
CETAG demands include the payment of one month's salary for additional duties performed in 2022 and the application of agreed allowance rates to deserving members.
The strike aims to ensure members' economic rights under the 1992 Constitution and the Labour Act. CETAG urges members to withdraw teaching and related services until their demands are met.
