The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has declared an indefinite strike due to delayed payment of outstanding arrears of allowances.
Despite a National Labour Commission (NLC) directive, the government has failed to pay research allowances, violating the 1992 Constitution.
CETAG's national president's salary has been frozen since August 2023, and some members haven't been paid without reason.
The strike won't be called off until concerns are addressed. CETAG demands the NLC, Ministry of Education, and FWSC uphold the Constitution and Labour Act, and settle outstanding awards through payments to members.
