CETAG holds emergency meeting as prolonged strike enters sixth week

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) is holding an emergency meeting regarding their ongoing strike, which began on June 14.

The strike, affecting all 46 public colleges of education, demands better working conditions and remuneration, including the implementation of the National Labour Commission’s Arbitral Award Orders.

CETAG seeks payment for additional duties performed in 2022 and allowances comparable to those at public universities.

This action has disrupted the academic calendar, leaving students in limbo.

The meeting aims to review strategies and determine the next steps to pressure the government to meet their demands.
