The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has warned of a potential return to industrial action due to the government’s failure to address their grievances.

CETAG had called off a two-month strike in August after government assurances that teachers would be placed on the public universities’ salary scale by the end of October 2024.

However, CETAG President Prince Obeng-Himah expressed disappointment, citing unmet commitments and disrespect toward CETAG members.

The group demands prompt action, including overdue salary adjustments and compensation for 2022 extra work, cautioning they will "take matters into their own hands" if ignored.
