CETAG vows to resist illegal salary freeze amid ongoing strike

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has vowed to intensify its indefinite strike until the government implements agreed-upon service conditions and an arbitral award.

CETAG President Prince Obeng-Himang, speaking in Kumasi, criticized the National Labour Commission for misinformation and denied members received arrears for the 2022/2023 Book and Research Allowance.

CETAG's strike, ongoing since June, has halted academic activities nationwide.

The Association warned against any attempts to freeze salaries, pledging legal action. CETAG also clarified that students can't take exams if they miss more than 21 days of classes, urging respect for attendance policies.
