The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has withdrawn from negotiations with the government and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, facilitated by the National Labour Commission (NLC).
This decision follows the government's failure to appear in court during CETAG's 14-day strike.
CETAG President Prince Obeng-Himah expressed disappointment, citing the absence as a deliberate disregard for their grievances.
Despite attending 28 meetings over a year without progress, CETAG had to seek compulsory arbitration.
The Association now views the employer's actions as a delay tactic and questions the legitimacy of continuing negotiations under these circumstances.
