Cantonments demolition: Property owner vows to take legal action

Sylvester Ashun, co-owner of an 18-bedroom apartment building in Cantonments, Accra, claims his property was illegally demolished by unknown men.

Ashun says a man known as ‘Chief’ first appeared two months ago, accompanied by land guards, demanding the property be vacated.

Chief allegedly claimed the land belonged to him and stated he was from the office of the Vice President.

Despite warnings, Chief returned with land guards and a bulldozer, demolishing the building.

Ashun, who plans to take legal action, revealed that some tenants were injured, with many now left homeless.
